Meal update

Having broken my daily meal plan of 100% raw after 2 months, here are a few new foods I have added...or will add shortly, to my diet. I still plan to live a larger % raw food daily diet (lifestyle eating plan), but I do also plan to introduce 20% cooked food into my meals, give or take.

I broke my vegetarian 2 month span with fish, as it was always my intention to be pescatarian, and not vegetarian (that happened because I went 100% raw). However, ironically, I broke the veggie span with raw fish! Had some sushi that incorporated cooked rice through, and even had a spring roll with shrimp filling. I had a few bites of noodles too. A few days before that I also would make zucchini chips, however I would make them in the oven on 360 degrees for 15 minutes (so a soft juicy snack) topped with my delicious vegan cheese mix (made from cashew nuts, red bell pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, cayenne and nutritional yeast). It is now one of my favorite dishes (snack and meal). Another favorite that I will be eating more now too is cooked cabbage (sauteed with onion tomatoes and spices...a meal in itself for me!).

As far as other foods that I fully avoided while eating raw, I decided I will add a little bit of, include raw cheeses and salmon. They has a lot of benefits, so I will seek out the best high quality sources. Look for future blogs outlining the benefits of each. Here are a few specific products I want to try.
Raw Milk Tomato Basil - Made from certified Organic Grass-fed milk, our Tomato Basil has sundried tomato and basil mixed with Cheddar to create a delicious flavor that is reminiscent of Italy. (from Swiss Land Cheese co.)

Raw Milk Garlic and Herb -Exquisite Garlic flavor along with a hint of herbs blends excellently with this great cheddar cheese! (from Swiss Land Cheese co.)
Sockey Salmon (red salmon)- In addition to ample protein, Alaskan sockeye salmon offers abundant omega-3s, as well as unrivaled levels of vitamin D and astaxanthin … a carotene-class red-orange pigment with rare antioxidant power. Certified Kosher (EarthK), Top-grade Wild Alaskan Sockeye Salmon, Certified sustainably harvested. (From Vital Choice)

Bison- Bison is a wonderful healthy red meat with all of the flavor and texture of beef. It's rich in protein and high in iron yet is lower in fat, calories and cholesterol than skinless chicken or turkey. In fact, Bison is one of the low fat meats recommended by the USDA as part of a balanced & nutritious diet. Blackwing's organic bison meat makes a filling, delicious meal. Their bison are free range, kept in the Dakotas on thousands of acres of untouched prairie with clean air & water. Their Bison are inspected by USDA veterinarians to assure each animal is in perfect health. (from BlackWing) So, when I do finally decided to add a red meat to my eating plan, I will go for a good source of bison, such as this one from Blackwing:) I know of another great source here in MN too that I will consider and compare prices.
